Huascar Inka's Lineage

Welcome to the teachings of Cusco’s Huascar Lineage, from the wisdom of andean healer Vilma Pinedo. The teachings of the Southern Valley of Cusco represent a direct connection to the Inka Huascar, the region's spiritual lineage grandfather, whose spirit currently abides in the Huacarpay Lagoon and where he works to transform the hucha, our heavy energy.

Rituals originally from the lands of Cusco were delivered to Vilma since she was a child, learning and supporting her grandfathers and grandmothers in their healing works. She has received this legacy from Don Benito Qorihuaman Vargas, Melchor Deza Itto, Francisco Sanchez Varga, Paulita Ñaupa, Eugenia Vargas and many others, all well known healers in their communities and some recognized and loved internationally.

In this series of gatherings we will honour this work, remembering the teachings left from Pachamama to the Huascar Lineage, receiving the knowledge of these ancestral healers that can assist us in awakening our sacred seed.

In the Andean tradition it’s not only the people who pass on the teachings, but also the sacred places connected by Seq’es, drawn like furrows of light where the earth opens its heart to receive your spiritual seed. So is the case in the Southern Valley of Cusco, with sanctuaries such as Huasao, Tipon, Yawar Wak’a, Tongobamba, Pikillaqta and Urpikancha, in the Huacarpay lagoon.

According to the legends and practice of Vilma’s Elders, inside the water of this lagoon lies a Golden Chain that Huascar had made for his children. During special astronomical events, the chain shines like a beam of light through the water, transmitting its strength and connecting the ukhu pacha (underworld) of the lagoon to the Sun in the hanaq pacha (upperworld).

The tradition teaches that each one of us receives a spiritual chain, representing our destiny and purpose in life. Through practice we can link this personal chain to Huascar’s Golden Chain, helping us heal the heaviness from the past and connecting us to the sacred places, the wak'as, in the andean path.

Vilma shares: “The Chain is the union between the person and  the most sacred of Pachamama, and has the potential to multiply any intention that one has in the spiritual world. This energy is like a unique seed of fertility, a source of pure life, one we do not control but we let flow through us to create harmony in our own lives.”

The elements in the Andean World

In the Andes 4 is a sacred number that represents a whole in harmony, and in this case in our spiritual practice we will work with 4 natural spirits or elements guided by the teachings of the Huascar lineage: water, earth, fire and wind, from the andean perspective.

Through the elements, the spirits bring the gift of life. The land where we are born blesses us with its nurturing energy no matter where we are at; the wind is alive, speaking the voice of the Apus from the 4 directions; the fire, playfully awakens the light and warmth in our hearts when we feel sad or weak; and through the lagoons and water springs, flows the enqayllu, a unique seed of fertility.

In this work we will awaken our inner light that is united to our ancestors' light. Our powers are like the rainbow and we will remember how to work with the 4 primordial Life spirits following the phases of the moon.

vida silvestre|vida salvaje

Friday 3rd
Introduction to the Fire and Wind Spirits with an offering.

Saturday 4th
-Connecting to the Fire
-Ceremony to awaken Inner Fire

Fire is naturally salqa, untamed, and to learn to manage fire in ourselves we must also learn to receive the strength of pachamama’s heat. We will awaken the harmony of this inner fire, allowing the light of the spiritual chain to release the hucha that burns in us.

Sunday 5th
-Connecting to the Wind
-Working with the four directions of the Wind.

Spirits speak from the 4 directions of the blowing wind. In the Andes it is important to listen carefully to what's being said, and learn to discern the energies that are being carried by the wind. Also, we have to learn to speak consciously, since we create the wind that can reach from a person to an Apu, a mountain protecting spirit.

Vilma Pinedo

Vilma Pinedo was born surrounded by the Apus, powerful mountain spirits, in the city of Huasao, Cusco. Her initiation into the path of the healer arrived before she was even born. When her mother was pregnant with her, she was struck by a lighting that almost kills them both. In the Andes this is a strong sign of being called by the spirits, that’s why from a young age the eyes of the community were set on her to learn the “curandera” way.

Vilma grew among her grandfathers and grandmothers, whom through day to day labour and sharing, taught her the traditional healing rituals. And since she was 12, she help them, reading the energy in the coca leaves, gathering the natural elements for the healings and offerings and using her intuition to advice the patients.

She comes from a lineage of renown healers in Cusco, amongst them her father Martin Pinedo, her mother María Sanchez, her grandfather Benito Qorihuaman and her great-grandfather Melchor Deza. The latter two, made known to foreigners by the masters Don Juan Nuñez del Prado and Américo Yabar, and respected  by a world-wide community of practitioners of the Andean Spiritual Tradition.

By studying at the university, Vilma did something that was new to past generations, allowing her to learn different languages, accessing and understanding more of the western and modern mindset.

Currently, she dedicates her time to her family, to helping her community, and assisting people in their spiritual paths, their own relations, families and businesses. She works with different subtle natural energies, using the methods received from her ancestors, like the making of offerings, the use of healing plants and sacred Andean rituals. She always remarks that when she works with people it’s the their faith what gets the job done. And that each one of us knows what we truly need, it’s just up to us to open up, listen, talk, and walk the path.

Vilma has a special connection with the Apus, guardian spirits of her land and culture. Like the Apu pachatusan, Manuel Pinta or Wiraqochan. They guide her in her works, and this is why she is considered as channel to the elders who still inhabit the high mountains in Cusco. “Sometimes you don’t see them, but they see you for sure, and they take care of you”, she says.

Vilma loves her family and the healing ways that bring balance to our bodies and our relationship with the living earth. She was called to accompany the Dalai Lama when he visited Cusco, and she uses her gift as a tool for health, peace and unity.

What participants of online programs with Vilma had to say

translated from spanish

“Vilma knew how to read our words, faces and personal energy bubbles through this journey of healing our energy eyes. I’m grateful for her listening carefully to what we had to say, and her deep reflecting on each of the individual processes shared online.

She knows the messages that travel in between worlds, reading the signs embedded in our dreams and the synchronicities the universe presents us with. She is a bridge between her holy land of Cusco and the holy lands of each of the participants summoned to this path. As she says: ‘Be humble, you are made of earth and stardust’.”

Francisca C. /Spain

My experience with Vilma has been a profound one. While I have been studying the Andean path for a number of years with Juan and Ivan, this experience has taken me much deeper and opened new spaces for me. A deeper embodied awareness of the Andean medicine and pachamama that will help me in my endeavors. As I am a shamanic healer and work with the Andean medicine, Vilmas perspective is very valuable because she has a direct connection to the Huascar lineage and works with these energies as a healer. I know without a doubt that she is a clear channel to this lineage and transmits a deep awareness of it.

Anthony P./ U.S.A.

“I  feel so moved when I find masters this pure. The wisdom expressed shakes the heart and soul, and everything we have experienced was knowledge given generously, I’ll hold dear down my path. Thank you Vilma, Francisco and Yandy.”

Karina G. / Argentina

Vilma brings a subtle yet intense energy into her works. You can tell she is constantly connected to the group process. Personally, this experience has helped me to find puzzle pieces of my life, to open up beatiful praying sacred spaces and to understand how the energies move through your body. I feel that what I discovered here will talk to me through time and space.”

Silvia M. / Sacred Valley in Cusco.

“Vilma’s teachings are so subtle and healing, I’m so grateful. I liked the space in between meetings that allowed me to digest and apply what I had learned.”
